Where did the time go?! No, really, where did the time go? I could swear it was right where I left it when I went to bed. But could I find that hour when I awoke? I looked high and low for it and it was gone. And to think of all the plans I had for it - I was going to do an extra hour of walking and do the vacuuming and start reading Anna Karenina and, and, and ... OK I was going to sleep.
Personally, I think that hour got fed up with this never ending winter and went to spend the summer on some sun drenched beach in the Caribbean. Sun, heat, none of the hustle-bustle we Canadians seem to insist on inflicting our hours with. Aaaah. Wouldn't we do the same if we had the same freedom?
But let's look on the bright side. While the morning is still dark our afternoons are starting to stretch well into the evening. We're only eleven days from the vernal equinox (oh happy spring). The snow is bound to melt (someday). We've almost made it.
So take some time to contemplate time. Is it so bad to lose an hour in idleness? No, I think it helps us to ground ourselves and helps reframe our perspectives. So go ahead and enjoy an hour or so of reframing. Happy Daylight Savings Time!
