Fighting the winter blues...

It is March and I have had a belly full of winter.  So, in an attempt to use 'reverse psychology'  on myself, I have decided to write about some things I like about this cruel season.

So, here goes:
It can be breathtakingly beautiful, particularly after a snow storm, when the snowflakes are fat and drifty and settle on the trees making the world look like a lace-bedecked bride.

Cold air always seem cleaner to me. I love taking a deep breath in and watching the smoke of my exhale curl out of my mouth and up into the ether, taking any bad humours with it.

When it is cold and grey outside, it makes being inside doubly delicious. It is a sensual hit to be cozy with a cup of tea and a good book knowing that you are missing whatever nastiness is out there.

And maybe that is what winter is for - to make us all truly appreciative of the simpler things and of each other.

Hmm, I do feel a bit better. That said I can still hardly wait for spring to start in 3 weeks!
