A few updates around our schedule:
- For this Thursday, August 7' morning walk there are a few people interested in going out to High Park - mostly east enders who usually walk in the cemetery. Watch for my usual Wednesday morning email to the group about this.
- The trip to the island has been postponed from Saturday Aug 9 until Saturday August 16 - assuming there is enough interest and availability from the group for this new date.
- Also on our calendar is a post walk breakfast in B's courtyard on Saturday August 30. Please bring your own breakfast goodies, along with picking up coffee/tea/beverage. Rain date will be Saturday September 6.
Races in Florence, Italy on Sunday March 29, 2026
Thanks to RR for finding this race in beautiful, art filled Florence! At this point we have 9 people interested in participating (including 2 spouses) - here's a few details:
- There is a 21 km and 10 km race. For the 21 km there is a time limit of 3 hours as per the website, similar info that we've seen before on time limits:
The maximum time to complete the race is 3 hours. After this time, the organization will no longer be able to ensure the full closure of the street
- The 10 km race is called "non - competitive" and looks like there is no time limit.
- I have been in contact with the race organizer to confirm the date and she informed me that the registration and website will be up in September.
My husband and I will be in Florence in early October, and will be quite happy to do some reconnaissance - including checking out the hotels affiliated with the race, the race routes, and any other info.
So, for those who have not expressed any interest in these races, but would like to be included (or thinking about it) please let BDL know. I will then create a separate group email for updates.
