Kindness (BY MARY)

I recently re-read one of my favourite books, “The Boy, The Mole, the Fox and the Horse” by Charlie Mackesy, a British book illustrator, artist and author.  At first glance it appears to be a simple children’s story but the book has sold over 250,000 copies and offers some interesting thoughts for readers of every age.  Here are some excerpts from the conversations between the boy and the animals:

 What is the biggest waste of time?  Comparing yourself to others;

Often the hardest person to forgive is yourself;

Doing nothing with friends isn’t doing nothing;

Asking for help isn’t giving up; it’s refusing to give up;

Nothing beats kindness; it sits quietly beyond all things.

This last comment made me think about the many acts of kindness I have seen within the TPW group over the years, and reminds me that we are a very special group of friends.
