Reflections at (almost) Year End (BY PHILIPPA)

Twelve years ago, in the midst of heartbreak and sorrow, after the death of my beloved husband, SS
dragged me out of my house by saying "Just come and walk with us" And so I did.
And now in 2023, in a world consumed with conflict and suffering, we continue to walk together,
bringing each other solace and comfort, laughter and joy.
So let's keep on keeping on, as the old rock song says, whatever 2024 may bring us, one step in front of
the other. Shoulder to shoulder we are here for each other.
But please do remember my motto:
Life is Uncertain, Eat Dessert First!
With much love to each and every one of you,
Philippa
P.S. A poem follows:

WHEREVER YOU ARE, FIND A TRAIL  by Ingrid Goff-Maidoff

The sky is not falling for the cedar tree
The heron’s infinite blue world has not changed
The marsh shows no signs of Wall Street volatility
Trees and grasses are golden with the sun
The ocean and sky still join like lovers here, now, and on the horizon, too.
The swan, content, faces the gentle breeze
The cormorant dives, resurfaces, belly once again filled.

Follow that trail.
Find the bench or stone that waits for you there.
We must learn to walk away from the carnival of the world
To become still, and remember what it is that holds us.
What in us is held.
