Snowmageddon!

The TPW annual business meeting was held this week after our cold but beautiful Saturday walk in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.  Like all TPW gatherings, there was food - in this case quiche, salad, bagels and cheese, and lots  of great desserts! We covered the business necessary - the use of our funds, future possible walks, locally and out of town, and training plans.  Thanks go to our hostess for a warm welcome.

When we finished and left, I stepped back out into a raging snow storm much like the one we'd had earlier in the week. After fighting my way home, I decided, based on the forecast, to cancel my plans for the rest of the weekend. I called the folks who had offered me a ride to and from the play I was going to see that night.  I could tell they thought I was over-reacting.  Then, the trickier business of closure of an event that wasn't just my decision.  After talking with the people who would actually lead the event, we reached the conclusion that it was necessary to call it off. We talked with others and made the call.  Then the hard part, getting the news out to everyone.  E-MAIL was invented for this!

I woke up in the morning actually hoping it was still snowing (!)  That would justify our decision.  My wish was granted,  And my grand kids have sent me pictures of how much they are enjoying a heavy snow day.

We are halfway through February, more than halfway through winter!
