I have been very grumpy lately so it was excellent therapy to see all the friendly walkers on Saturday morning; such a good distraction with good company and beautiful fall weather. I'm sure all of you have had times when everything seems to be going terribly wrong, as if deliberately so.
First of all, there is a slow water leak in my basement and until it gets fixed (in about three weeks), I will have to mop up about half a bucket of water every day. Number 2: my tankless water heater has stopped working, so my showers are breathtakingly cold and will be remain that way until the new part is delivered and installed. Number 3: my cat knocked a vase full of water off the dining room table which I soaked up with every available towel in the house. Number 4: the next day after yet another very refreshing shower, I discovered I had no towel in the bathroom (see No 3), only a scrap of a hand towel to dry myself with. And finally Number 5: the coup de grace, I dropped my cell phone, shattering the screen thereby basically killing it and I have spent two tortuous days trying to replace it. (My advice: be very kind to your phone). The height of absurdity is reached when one's new phone insists on sending a code (known as two factor verification) to one's old phone that can no longer receive texts because it's dead, which is the very reason why one needs to get a new phone. Sigh...
I sure hope the woes are now done with me because I need a break, I am running out of whiskey and chocolate.
