How I Spent My Saturday

This past Saturday I missed the walk to the Brickworks which I am sure was great - perfect weather and there is always good food to buy and eat or take home.

Instead my daughter and I decided to restore a pre-covid tradition of a Saturday in Niagara on the Lake and a play, always Shaw,   We left at 11, quite pleased with ourselves that we'd  have time for lunch and a stroll through downtown before the play. We adroitly avoided the Caribbean Festival and were soon on the Queen E but found ourselves in 3 lanes of stop-and-go traffic. Our SatNav reassured us that we would be on time for the play but perhaps no lunch.

We settled in and had a great time bringing each other up to date on our lives, discussing the foibles of our relatives, and agreeing on the perfection of her children.

The probable destination time  grew later and later and we began discussing how late we could be and still take in the show.  And then my bladder decided for us that we would have to stop. The Tim Horton's washroom had a VERY long line-up (clearly people who had started the journey about the same time we did.)  We found another washroom with a slightly shorter line.  When we finished, we shrugged and went looking for lunch.

We found a pleasant patio near Grimsby (yes, in three hours we had got just a little past the Burlington Bridge,) We continued our very satisfying conversation, got back in the car, filled it with gas, and drove home.

I never did hear what the hold-up was.  Perhaps everybody got hungry for Buffalo wings at the same time?
