A Lovely Morning

We walked in Mount Pleasant Cemetery this morning.  I am always struck by it's trees.  Most times, it will be a tree that I've never noticed before that suddenly seems spectacular.  But today it was an old tree that is gradually losing its shape.  I think it's a very old tree and it has lost several major limbs lately, likely due to high winds. I felt kinship.  I still have all my limbs but they don't all work the way they used to!

We had the most lovely gathering after our walk.  About 20 of us met in the backyard of one of our members who treated us to brunch feast - a strata, salads, bacon and sausage, sweet treats, drinks. The setting was perfect.  It threatened to rain but only sprinkled intermittently.  The garden's borders were blooming prettily and two groups formed, one on the deck under an umbrella, the other at a table spread on the lawn. The groups came together to sing Happy Birthday to the member who is most likely to remember to celebrate the birthdays of us all.
