Well here we are approaching the end of
November.
Cold air hit our faces as we walked, all
bundled up, through the cemetery on Saturday.
Outside
the cemetery, the busyness of the city was very visible. People rushing here
and there pulling their children along. It was not until I heard a subway
musician start the Jingle Bells tune that I associated all the busyness with
the approaching season.
You may be wondering what this all has to
do with walking. Well, for me, it has to do with the lessons I have applied in
my life from walking.
One of the first things (of many) I learned
in walking was a lesson contained in pacing. The lesson I learned which applies
to me: if you start slow and gradually built up the
pace, you finish the race.
So my wish for you, in this soon approaching
holiday season, is to apply the aforementioned lesson contained in pacing. Don’t
get caught up in the busyness, pace yourself and walk with us (all bundled up) through the holiday season.
